Red tape everywhere

I love my country don't get me wrong. But the system and the politics and corruption in government to say the least is something most Filipinos are not proud about.  Last week my mother was hospitalized due to an operation. We brought her  to a government funded hospital. They required us to get all these documents from the our towns DSWD in order for her to get accesss to the discounted hospitalization bills etc. It was fine until I found out that we still have to bring these documents to politicians such as the governor and the Congressman so they will be the one endorsing fund tontbe hosital. What peeved me the most is that we need to comply this and it was the weekend and no government office on Saturday's and Sundays. So my mom has to check out on a Monday...I don't understand why they have to let a politician endorse a budget for health which is just basic privilege of the people availing government services. Anyways, this rant is just my remnant frustration from that glitch but all is good now. Actually grateful for all the blessings - that my Mother is safe and better, thankful to my brother who gave his utmost financial support and all our relatives who offered their concerns and prayers. To my cousins wife who was with Mother all through her days in the hospital ..Truly you will know the people who will be there for you in times of needs. As to the governments faulty bureaucracy - maybe will just learn to deal with it... Will just do our own thing to help in whatever way we can to make this country better...I have a scholar - she's still in senior year...hopefully she'll graduate and improved her life and her family's...maybe that's my own little share for nation building.

Afternoon spent in the hospital the white wall provided a backdrop for my selfie ...
