Late post (written last June) Unmet, unsee, unmatch

Psychology defines - Memory is the process in which information is encoded, stored, and retrieved. Encoding allows information from the outside world to be sensed in the form of chemical and physical stimuli. I don't have the best of memory recall. Blame it on age or something else. However I've been practicing recall.  On my way back from Bacolod I took the Roro  because the commute is nearer my town. I've been going there for the past weeks because of familial obligation  first and then to see my friends whose vacationing from the US. This is the very reason I didn't go to Laboracay this year.  Even was the lure was just overwhelming, Zoukout was presented by my company. But an aunt passed away and it's kind of disrespectful to be partying in the island while the rest of my relatives are paying their respect.  Anyways...

I heard a song  playing from the tv screen as a background music for the teleserye  and I relate it to another melody playing in my head which was vaguely familiar . I tried to google a line from that song but I don't have the correct lyrics to it. I don't even know the title or the singer.  I was obsessively trying to remember even using my data and just try to really store that sound in my head. Then I tried to recall of that song is one from an indie singer and google it again and finally recalled  that the song sound like one of the soundtrack of the vampire movie Twilight. I have to try to open my old IPhone 3G with old songs to no avail. Finally I googled Twilight soundtrack and got it correctly but with some effort because there's been 4 movies. But finally I remember it as Turning Page and I didn't know the title at that time. It was actually played in the wedding of Edward and Bella in Braking Dawn. (It's not A thousand years) Told  you, I watch all the movies and read all the books. I'm not really a die hard twifan I was just a reader and a pop culture aficionado with fear of missing out.  But that wedding scene is a tearjerker I must admit. The twilight franchise catapulted Kristen Steward and Robert Pattinsons fame as well as their love story. Many fans rooted for them and also many girls hated her. Alas, they have to separate  because of a cheating scandal and Rob is now dating an indie girl FKA twigs and Kristen has a girlfriend. c'est la vie!

So where was I ah memory - sometimes, it has such a funny way creeping on us like some thing has associations to feelings and occasions in our lives.
Just a few days back, the owner of the resto where we had brunch with the workmates approach me and I called my name and ask me if I still work for Globe. I thought he was just a subscriber but then he reminded me that once he interviewed me for a job opening in the company he used to work for. It was only then that I recalled him. obviously I stayed with Globe.. So memories,  It can bring smiles to our faces as well as bittersweet memories. It's when I sometimes thought, I wish I could unmet, unsee,  unheard and unmatch  ( this ones possible though) or simply forget like that movie Eternal Sunshine of the spotless mind. But well that technology of erasing memory hasn't been invented yet. (Unless you want to bump your head on a wall) whatever those memories are they made us who we are now. It's all part of us we just gotta chose what's worth remembering and just leave them be the ones that makes us unhappy. We still have a choice..
