London Calling

This write up came up at a time when I was trying to comfort a friend who has to cancelled a wedding. She was ready to leave to be with a guy but has to end the relationship because  there was some unresolved issues concerning religion. The guy's  family is from

Pakistan and are  solid Islams. They wanted her  to change religion, change her name and the works. I guess    Relationships takes hard work as it is and changing religion is I guess a hard limit for most. In our viber group a lot has commented to comfort her. Some were sincerely heartwarming and some are practical and funny to cheer her up.  We have a viber group because we're batch mate in one of the company training we attended. We learned that although the guy has already lived in London and in fact he's a British national now. He still conforms to the religion of his parents. I've commented how this is the 21st century but how slowly some of this countries have evolved in terms  of their treatment of women. But well we can't argue with culture. In some ways it has probably helped them as a country and also doomed them but still it's their own. Some joked her that it's probably for the better, because he might be an ISIS. Well at this time you can never be too careful..

Interestingly, while I was eating alone at the mall food hall, these girls has to share table with me -  these girls looking like they're fresh out of college or in their 20s. I can't help but overhear their conversation. Apparently one of the girls is going to London to meet her boyfriend who is Scottish and she was asking some tips from the other girl who has been there or has lived in London for some tips where to go and what to do. This girl who's going to London is meeting her boyfriend and she has still to get her tourist visa. And in case she doesn't get approves they are planning to get a fiancée visa. 

wow what confidence in relationship this girl has, I thought. They were talking 

like they  know shit about love and life and relationship I actually envy them. I have reached this age and I honestly could say that I am just winging it!  I am never an expert I guess it doesn't necessarily come with age but with experience, maturity and the situation. They were even talking about Brexit , at least they are relevant....The things we do in the name of Love!
